Dental Implant Cost in Las Vegas: What Changes the Price?

The cost of a dental implant depends on your mouth, not a menu. The biggest factors are how many teeth you need to replace, whether a tooth has to come out first, the health of your jawbone and gums, and the type of tooth that goes on top. An exam is the only way to get a real number for you.

It is one of the first questions patients ask at Sahara Dental Center in Las Vegas. Below, Dr. Shiva Keshmiri, DDS (our patients call her Dr. K) explains what goes into the price of dental implants in Las Vegas, so you know what to expect before your visit.

The Quick Answer

  • Implant cost depends on the number of teeth, your bone and gum health, any extractions, and the type of final tooth.
  • A single tooth implant, an implant bridge, and a full set of implant teeth are priced very differently.
  • Some PPO plans cover part of the treatment. Our team checks your benefits before you start.
  • Financing through Cherry can split the cost into payments.

What is included in the cost of a dental implant?

A dental implant is not one item. It is three parts, plus the care it takes to place them.

  • The implant post. A small post that sits in your jawbone and acts as a new tooth root.
  • The abutment. A connector that joins the post to your new tooth.
  • The crown. The implant tooth you see when you smile.

Your visits are part of it too: the exam, X-rays, planning, and follow-up checks. When you compare quotes, ask what each one includes. A low number that leaves out the crown is not a low number.

What changes the price of a tooth implant?

Six things move the price the most.

1. How many teeth you need to replace

One missing tooth usually needs one implant and one crown. Several missing teeth in a row may be held by two implants that support a bridge. If you are missing most or all of your teeth, implant-supported dentures can give you a full set of permanent teeth on a few implants. More teeth means more parts and more time.

2. Whether a tooth needs to come out first

If a broken or failing tooth is still in place, it has to be removed before the implant goes in. Sometimes the implant can go in the same day. Other times the area needs to heal first. Your dentist decides based on what they see.

One safety note: if a painful tooth comes with facial swelling that spreads, fever with swelling, or trouble breathing or swallowing, do not wait for a dental visit. Go to the ER or call 911.

3. The health of your jawbone

An implant needs enough bone to hold it. After a tooth is lost, the bone in that spot can shrink over time. If there is not enough left, you may need a bone graft first. That adds a step, cost, and healing time. We cover this more in our post on dental implants vs. dentures.

4. The health of your gums

Gum disease has to be treated before an implant is placed. If you need a deep cleaning or other general dental care first, that is part of your plan.

5. The type of tooth on top

The final tooth can be a single crown, a bridge, or a full denture. Each one uses different materials and lab work. See how dental crowns work.

6. Your overall health and habits

Smoking and some health conditions can slow healing. They do not always rule out an implant, but they can change the plan or the timeline.

Why do implants cost more than a bridge or dentures?

Implants usually cost more up front because they replace the root, not just the tooth. Here is how the three options compare side by side:

  • Dental implant: Replaces the root and the tooth. Stands on its own, so nearby teeth are not reshaped. Higher cost at the start. Built to last a long time with good care.
  • Bridge: Fills a gap by anchoring to the teeth on each side. Those teeth get reshaped to hold it. Often lower cost at the start.
  • Denture: Removable teeth that rest on your gums. Usually the lowest cost at the start. Needs adjustments and replacement over the years.

No option is right for everyone. The best choice fits your mouth, your health, and your budget.

Does insurance cover dental implants?

Sometimes, in part. It depends on your plan.

Sahara Dental is in-network with most PPO plans. Our team verifies benefits for every new patient before treatment, so you know what your plan pays before you commit. Some plans cover parts of the process, like the exam, X-rays, extraction, or crown. Others have waiting periods or a yearly maximum. Many plans reset each January, so if you are planning treatment, ask how to make the most of the benefits you have now. See our insurance and financing page for details.

How can I pay for dental implants?

You have options beyond paying all at once.

  • Cherry financing. Sahara Dental offers payment plans through Cherry. You can apply during your visit and split the cost into payments.
  • Insurance benefits. Your PPO plan may cover part of the work. We check for you.
  • HSA or FSA. If you have one, ask your plan administrator whether you can use it for dental care.
  • Treatment in stages. Some plans can be split over time. Ask your dentist if that makes sense for you.

What do real dental implant results look like?

Implant teeth look and work like natural teeth. The photos below show one Sahara Dental Center patient who came in with broken and missing teeth across her smile.

Before: broken and missing teeth

After: a full, natural-looking smile

A case like this replaces many teeth at once, so it is planned and priced very differently from a single implant. That is why your exam matters. You can see more about how we place and restore dental implants in Las Vegas on our implants page.

How do I find out what my implant will cost?

Start with a free implant consultation. Your dentist will check your teeth, gums, and bone, take X-rays, and talk through your options. You leave with a clear treatment plan and the cost before any work begins. Learn more about our tooth implant options.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I get an exact dental implant price over the phone?

Every mouth is different. The price depends on your bone, your gums, and the type of tooth you need, and those can only be checked in an exam. After your visit, we give you a clear treatment plan with the cost before you start.

Does a bone graft always add to the cost?

Only if you need one. A bone graft is used when there is not enough jawbone to hold the implant. Your dentist can tell after an exam and X-rays.

Is one implant cheaper than a bridge?

Not always up front. A bridge often costs less at the start, but it uses the teeth next to the gap as anchors. An implant stands on its own, which is why many people see it as a long-term choice.

Do PPO dental plans cover dental implants?

Some PPO plans cover part of implant treatment and some do not. Sahara Dental is in-network with most PPO plans. Our team verifies your benefits before treatment starts, so you know what your plan pays.

Can I finance dental implants in Las Vegas?

Yes. Sahara Dental offers financing through Cherry, which lets you split the cost into payments. Our team can help you apply during your visit.

Do implant-supported dentures cost more than regular dentures?

Usually, yes, because they need implants placed in the jaw. They are held in place by implants instead of resting on your gums. That is why many denture wearers ask about them.

How long does the dental implant process take?

It depends on whether you need an extraction or a bone graft first. Many cases take a few months, because the bone needs time to heal around the implant. Your dentist will give you a timeline at your consultation.
